Balloon Sinuplasty

Balloon Sinuplasty is a safe, minimally-invasive, FDA-approved procedure which can now be performed in your ENT doctor's office.Dr. Lueg was the first surgeon to perform Office Balloon Sinuplasty in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties and has now performed over 3000 sinus dilations. Most of these dilations were performed in his office without ever going to the hospital or undergoing general anesthesia without any needles.

During the procedure a very small soft balloon catheter is placed through your nose into your sinus openings using a specialized sinus endoscope and viewed on a high definition video monitor. The balloon inflates, gently opening up your blocked sinuses without any cutting. The procedure takes about 15 minutes and there are no facial incisions, bruising, scars or uncomfortable nasal packing. Many patients are able to return to normal activities in the afternoon or the very next day.

Studies have shown Balloon Sinuplasty to be extremely safe, effective and lasting. Among all reported studies, involving thousands of procedures now, there have been no serious adverse events reported from the balloon. One study of over 1000 patients found 96% of patients reported significant improvement in their sinus symptoms.

Chronic Sinusitis causes facial pain, headache, pressure, congestion, loss of smell, post nasal drainage, sneezing, coughing and chronic fatigue. The symptoms can be miserable and overwhelming. Many people suffer for years, going through multiple rounds of antibiotics and nasal sprays without ever getting real relief.

If you have these symptoms and medical treatments never worked or are no longer working make an appointment to see if you are a candidate for Office Balloon Sinuplasty.
